PIRform needs a component from Microsoft to be able to work on your computer. This component is called the Dotnet Framework. If you do not have the Dotnet Framework installed when you install PIRform then PIRform will tell you that you need to go and get it first.
Windows has a built in update facility that you can use to keep your copy of Windows updated, it’s called Windows Update and you can find it in Control Panel (click the Start button to find Control Panel).
You can use Windows Update to install the Dotnet Framework for you. To do this, go into Windows Update and let it scan for updates. Then select the Software, Optional category on the left of the screen and tick the option to install the Dotnet Framework on the right. It will start with “Microsoft .NET Framework”.
After this just click Install Updates in Windows Update and follow the instructions. When this has completed you will be able to install PIRform (you might be asked to restart your computer before it’s ready).
